The word 'Philosophy' comes from the Greek words 'philos' - meaning love, and 'sophia' - meaning wisdom. 'Philosophia' is the love of wisdom.
The Philosophy courses are inspired by the ancient concept of Advaita, but embrace a wide range of philosophers, thinkers and writers. In a spirit of enquiry, exploration of philosophical principles based on personal experience is encouraged. It is not exclusive, and students who attend these courses include followers of the world's great religions and many who follow no religion at all.
