Inette Swart
After Completing a Master of Music degree at the Eastman School of Music in 2006 with all subjects in the A
grade range, Inette decided to further her studies in Europe. In the time spent in South Africa she was fortunate to win the
Unisa Overseas' Music Scholarship for Performers in 2006, as well as the Unisa Overseas Music Scholarship for Teachers
and SAMRO prize in 2007. At the end of last year she performed the Rachmaninoff 3rd piano concerto with the orchestra in
Bulgaria and thereafter commenced studies at the Frederyk Chopin University, Warszawa. She recently completed the
Artistic Stage at FCU, while also enrolled for doctoral studies at the University of Pretoria. Her other qualifications include an
MMus degree cum laude from the University of Pretoria and Fellowship of the Royal Schools of Music with distinction.
Inette pays tribute to her teachers Nelita True, Joseph Stanford, and Jan Kadlubiski for all the knowledge and great culture
shared.
Merryl Monard
A former pupil of Amos Eisenberg, Albert Honey, Caroline Hobbs-Smith, Leslie Shiells, John Hinch
and Abie de Quant. Her experience overseas includes performing principal flute in the Sweelinck Baroque Orchestra
of the Conservatory of Amsterdam and master classes with P Lukas Graf, Matthias Ziegler and Andras Adorjan.
A masters graduate of the conservatory of Amsterdam and the University of Pretoria, Merryl has been awarded many
study bursaries. Her first prizes include the SASMT Gladwell competition(2003) and the ATKV Muziq competition (2007).
Currently she performs regularly with the Salon Music Ensemble in Pretoria and orchestras around Gauteng.
She has had a number of compositions dedicated to her, including Stefans Grove’s December Fragments (2003).
