"The Sanskrit language is there, pure and clean, unhampered or distorted by anyone, and it can mirror the laws of the universe to anyone; this is the good companion, the good guide and the great friend. Journey with it and then Veda is simple and sure."
~ Śrī Śāntānanda Sarasvatī 1974

What is Sanskrit?

Sanskrit is among the earliest attested members of the Indo-European language family and is a premier classical language. Sanskrit, as such, is known as Sanskrit because it is measured, refined and ordered. Sanskrit is the perfect vehicle of the Ancient Oral Tradition and the wisdom of the Vedas and Upanishads. It is a uniquely complete sound and grammar system, where each sound is prescribed, meaningful and promotes the language of the spoken word, chants and mantras.

Why Study Sanskrit?

It is hoped that the study of the Sanskrit language will awaken in the student the pursuit of the discovery of truth, which is an inherent impulse in all human beings.
