The System used

The School follows the Advaita Vedanta system which evolved in ancient times from the Vedas and has been successfully worked through millennia. It is open for mankind and there is no religious implication or restriction to any religion. If one finds it good and useful then its goodness arises from its constitution. The system of meditation offered by the School is also not religious; therefore it does not clash with anything. It is designed for the spirit of man, which is not bound to any religion.

Although the Vedanta has been the mainspring of the School of Philosophy, it has been augmented by other great teachings especially those relevant to the western world. Study of the words of Jesus Christ in the light of Vedantic teaching has been very helpful, each illuminating the other. The Platonic dialogues and the letters and works of Marsilio Ficino of the Florentine Platonic Academy have also been invaluable. Recently the words of Hermes Trismegistus have been examined anew to great advantage. It is clear that the same message of Advaita or Self-realization underlies them all.

The philosophical teaching the School offers is therefore not comparative by nature but practical, designed for all mankind irrespective of distinction. Through group discussions led by more experienced students with new students, universal truth is explored, practice is encouraged and discovery illuminated.
